I'm Denise, the owner and talent of Rochester Bridal Alterations. I’m glad you are here and are considering becoming an “RBA Bride”! My mission is a simple one - to make you feel at ease with your alterations process and more than satisfied with the end result. I know this is a busy time in your life, and I’m here to handle one of the most important steps leading up to your wedding. You can trust every detail of your gown’s alterations will be handled with attention and care.
The Backstory
I learned to sew at a young age from my mother, whose mother was also a talented seamstress. Sewing skills were a part of my Father's side as well. My great-grandmother, affectionately referred to as "Ma Kayte," was a highly skilled professional seamstress and sewed many pieces of my childhood wardrobe. She was an inspiration! I grew up sewing my own clothing and doing alterations on off-the-rack clothing, with generations of family cheering me on (and offering expert coaching). After college, career, and motherhood, I soon returned to sewing and began providing alterations for friends, family, and customers. From there, I honed my skills as a bridal seamstress at a respected bridal salon, eventually opening my own studio to provide highly personalized service. When I'm not sewing, you'll find me spending time with my family, my cute dog Scout, reading, dusting my vintage sewing machine collection, and keeping my scissors sharp.
